Graeme Shepherd BVM&S MRCVS

Graeme Shepherd BVM&S MRCVS
Managing & Clinical Director, Senior Veterinary Surgeon

As well as his veterinary duties, Graeme is manager and clinical director of the practice with more than 27 years' experience. He is particularly interested in companion animal surgery and orthopaedics. When not working, he is keen on dog walking and the occasional game of tennis.

Alison Shepherd BVSc AVP MRCVS
Clinical Director, Senior Veterinary Surgeon

Alison is one of our senior vets and is particularly keen on companion animal critical care, ultrasound and radiology. She has recently obtained a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice - her focus for this certificate is dog and cat medicine. Looking after her three little boys and further studying fills the rest of her time.

Susanne Seffer 

Susanne is our newest addition to the vet team and a 
great addition to our emergency out of hours service. Susanne will only 
be working nights, and with over 30 years experience you and your pets 
will be in safe hands.

Max Rutana

Max qualified as a vet in 2006 and joined the practice in June 2023 bringing with him a wealth of experience. He will be providing a lot of the practices out of hours emergency care, something he has a huge passion for. He has a keen interest in dermatology. When not working Max has a 6 year old son to keep him busy.

Nurses

Sophie Ashbourne RVN – Head Nurse 

Sophie joined the practice in January 2020 to lead the nursing team.

Sophie graduated with a degree in Veterinary Nursing from Harper Adams University in 2012 has worked as a RVN ever since. Sophie has a passion for cats which lead to  her undertaking a post graduate certificate in Feline Nursing. Sophie enjoys performing minor surgeries and has a special interest in emergency and critical care, pain management and wound care.

Shannon Lester RVN - Deputy Head Nurse

Shannon joined the practice in 2021 as a  registered veterinary nurse and was quickly promoted to deputy head  nurse. Shannon has a keen interest in surgery and anaesthesia and loves  spending time on inpatient care.

Jodie Young RVN - Deputy Head Nurse 

Jodie joined the nursing team as a student vet nurse in 2020 and qualified in 2021. Jodie has recently been promoted to deputy head nurse  She has a very keen interest in inpatient care and nurse clinics.

Becky Sivell RVN

Becky has worked in the practice since 1993. She worked her way up to become Head Nurse, having qualified in 2008, and then, following maternity leave, she rejoined the practice as a fully qualified veterinary nurse in 2010.

Tammy Banks - Veterinary nurse

Tammy has been within the veterinary industry for over 20 years. Tammy has a special interest in surgical nursing and anesthesia.


Tammy has a young family at home and enjoys running, meditating and long walks in the countryside.

Anastasia Andrews RVN

Anastasia joined the team in Dec 2018 as a 3rd year student veterinary nurse and qualified in 2021. Anna, now predominantly does night shifts for the practice as she loves emergency  care and is studying for a certificate in critical care medicine.

Megan Weaver - SVN

Megan is a qualified animal nursing assistant with a degree in animal welfare and behaviour. She is now studying to become a registered veterinary nurse.  When not at work she enjoys spending time with her French bulldog Rossie.

Kellie Fren - VCA

Kellie joined the practice in 2023 as a kennel  assistant and has now progressed into the role of veterinary care  assistant. She has hopes of training to become a qualified veterinary
nurse in the future.

Admin & Reception Staff

Louise Childes (Company Secretary)

Louise has been in the practice since 1978. At this time she joined as a student Veterinary Nurse. However, over the years, her role has changed and in 1990, she became a Secretary, advancing to her current role of Company Secretary. Louise is also a Driving Instructor and On-Call Fire Fighter.

Simone Simkin - Office Manager

Simone has been a part of the practice for almost 19 years. She has a passion for all areas of client care and has a wealth of knowledge on insurance and pet health plans. When she isn’t at work she has 3 boys and a 2 dogs to keep her busy.

Libby Keelan

Office administrator - Libby works alongside Simone to
make sure all your client care needs are met. She is also in training to be our lead health and safety co-ordinator. In her spare time she likes to attend festivals to watch her boyfriends band play.

Paulette Fitzgeorge - Receptionist

Paulette joined the practice as a full time receptionist in 2023. She loves all animals, and you will often find her in the waiting areas offering out treats and fuss to all the pets.

Emma White - Receptionist

Emma is actually Louise (our company secretary) Sister. Emma joins us to pursue a change of career and is proving to be a fantastic new addition to the team.

Megan Smith - Receptionist

Meg is new to the practice but is making her presence felt with her super organisation skills and proactive attitude. Meg is a dog lover and loves to walk her little dog Daisy.

Cordelia Grigg - Receptionist

Cordelia is our newest reception team member joining the practice in June 2023. Cordi, as she likes to be known, has qualifications in equine therapeutics and massage. She lives oa farm with a wide variety of pets.
