Weight, Dental and Senior Pet Clinics

We have a team of fully qualified registered and student veterinary nurses at Shepherds' Vets who offer a wide range of services, ranging from nail clipping, suture removal, microchipping, routine post-operative check-ups and preventative medicine advice (e.g., flea and worming treatments). Our nurses are also frequently responsible for admitting and discharging your pet for surgical and/or investigative procedures as well as closely monitoring and caring for your pet before, during and after surgery or hospitalisation.

As well as this, they also offer a variety of clinics in the practice, such as our Weight, Dental and Senior Pet Health Clinics.

Weight Clinics

Run by Hayley Griffiths, our Head Nurse and Nutritional Advisor, these clinics aim to provide support and guidance to help you achieve your pet's target weight. There is a small charge for 12 months support(which includes 6 detailed appointments).

Dental Clinics

The best possible dental care you can give your pet is to brush their teeth regularly - the 'gold standard' is to do it on a daily basis - after all, imagine how our teeth would be if we never brushed them?

Like us, our pets need their teeth and mouths checked regularly. At the Shepherds' Dental Clinic, our nurses can take a look at your pets teeth and gums, and advise you on how to care for them, as well as advising any treatment or veterinary attention that may be necessary. They can also advise you on such aspects as how to brush your pets teeth and which products to use.

Senior Pet Health Clinics

These clinics aim to provide support and guidance for the older pet. We advise that a urine sample is brought into the practice for analysis (there is a small charge for this) and alongside urinalysis, we will carry out a head to toe check of your dog/cat. If further veterinary attention is needed and blood tests required, for those who have attended the senior pet health clinic, there will be a discount on the recommended blood tests. This clinic is run by Hayley Griffiths, one of our experienced RVN's.
